Benefits of Buying a new car

1. New car financing loans have lower interest rates.

You’re likely to keep a car longer if you’ve bought it new, so lenders can afford to give you a lower interest rate.  They know that you’re happy with your car and chances are you’ll continue making your payments.  Someone who has bought a used car, on the other hand, may not be as satisfied with their purchase and less inclined to fulfill the lender’s investment.

2. Less maintenance required

Nobody likes to realize that something’s wrong with their car and that they have to take it in to the mechanic.  Even if it’s something small like the air-conditioner breaking, or the alarm going off at random times, such problems still need to be addressed lest they cause repeated headaches to you and any passengers you might be ferrying.  Car problems tend to strike when you least expect it, at the most inconvenient moment.  Of course it’s even worse when you have a major problem, such as with the transition or engine, or something that keeps the car from going at all.  Then you need to factor in the hassle and cost of towing, in addition to the large amount of time and money you will have to spend dealing with your used car’s problems.

With a new car, it’s a safe bet that you can always go wherever you want, whenever you want, relatively secure in the notion that your travels will be smooth.  To some, just this confidence is worth a considerable amount of money up front when they are buying their new car.

3. New car warranty

In the unlikely event that a problem does arise with your new car, you won’t have to pay a dime to have it fixed.  The dealer and manufacturer back their sale with a warranty which allows you to have your car fixed at a dealer location, at no extra charge to you.  With used cars, you have the inconvenience of breakdowns plus the insult to injury when you have to fork over hundreds of dollars just to keep the car going.  New cars let you keep zipping around to your heart’s content, knowing that any problem that comes up will be fixed for free.

4. Incentives ahead of time

Because of the recent economic melt-down, some dealers are now offering incentives to buy new cars.  One of these is 0% financing.  It’s hard to argue with an arrangement that allows you to pay for a car with exactly the same amount of money that you would had you paid for it all up front.

5. Rebates & Incentives

Rebates are also increasingly common among dealers.  For example, some SUV manufacturers are offering cash-back in the thousands of dollars when you buy one of their models.  There are even incentives other than money, such as free maintenance and roadside assistance.  You have to admit that free tire rotations, oil changes, and inspections sound tempting.  These are some of the perks Toyota is offering in its new program called ToyotaCare, which provides certain free services for the first two years you own your car, or the first 25,000 miles you drive.

6.  Increased savings going forward

Everyone’s been suffering at the hands of sky-high gas prices.  When you fill up your car and look at the amount you’re spending, isn’t it depressing?  If you are in the market to buy a car, you may want to think about buying new.  New cars have much better fuel efficiency than used ones.  Manufacturers and dealers realize that nobody wants to spend more than they absolutely have to on gas.  Combining this notion with the economic recession and the push for everyone to be more environmentally friendly, carmakers have recently begun to compete heavily with each other for good fuel economy.  The result is that you, the consumer, have some attractive choices when it comes to buying a model that won’t require you to pay too much at the pump.
