1979 Ford F-100 Short Bed 2 wd . 408 Stroker Motor, C4 with 2800 Stall
Hello guys n gals. This is my 1979 Ford F-100 up for sale or trade.
I have owned this truck for about 10 years. When I bought it it was all stock with a 302cid and c6 transmission. I have put a lot of time and effort into this truck and love driving it but I have 4 vehicles and have decided to offer this one up for sale. Here is a brief description of the truck.
This truck does NOT have power steering, power brakes or air conditioning.
It has roll down windows and an old am-fm-cassette player with 2 crappy speakers...lol.
It Does Have :
408cid stroker motor with about 3,000 miles since installed. I bought this motor new with zero miles from blue print engines. It’s dyno sheet shows @425 hp it runs awesome and I have had no issues. The carb is a holley 750 dbl pumper, not my favorite carb but it is what it is.
ATI c4 tranny with b&m 2800 stall, balanced drive shaft & ford locker rear end with 390 gears.
Headman long tube headers with flowmaster dual exhaust.
Tri core radiator with overflow reservoir .
I beam lowering kit with matching shocks, lowered the stance @2-3 inches.
18” american racing rims with Yokahama yk580 tires, lots of tread, maybe have 3000 miles at most.
Front brake kit upgrade with cross drilled rotors and extreme duty brake pads.
The motor, tranny, rearend, suspension lowering kit, brake kit, tires and wheels were all installed within the last 3 thousand miles. I have all the receipts for the work totalling at least $12k and it was all done at an ase certified shop.
Beyond that I have upgraded headlights, side marker lights, tail lights, paint, graphics, battery, starter, starter relay and more.
The truck has some rust under the drivers side floor pan / moderate as well as the floor of the bed has rust issues / needs replaced . The tailgate you can just throw away… lol .
The fuse panel has been upgraded with the painless blade style panel but the wiring harness is original. I have had to make some repairs to the harness as needed and currently am having problems with the brake lights working intermittently . I don’t think it would take much to correct the problem but I just have not gotten around to doing it.
Just recently I have started to notice a slight vibration in the steering wheel during tight turning maneuvers. I have inspected the wheel bearings and they seem to be fine and they were replaced recently. All the steering arm and control bushings are in good condition and tight.
I think the steering box may need to be serviced or replaced. The heater core started to leak a while back so I bypassed it and the blower motor works but is noisy .
So there it is, the good , the bad and the ugly.
This truck is fun to drive, drives straight and gets a lot of attention. I only use mobile 1 synthetic oil and synthetic tranny fluid, I recently flushed the brake fluid, it has a new air filter , plugs and iridium spark plugs.
Conservatively I have + $20,000 invested in this truck and I will let it go for $10,500 or Trade .
I have a clear florida title and all receipts .
