On November 21st 2015 it appeared that the engine caught fire in my driveway. What actually caught fire was the nest that some critter built on top of the engine. I filed a claim the next day and assumed that they would total it. A week or so later, after I had already purchased another vehicle, my insurance company informed me that they were going to put $3800 into fixing the car as their system claimed my car was worth $5500. So there is your full disclosure. That said, what I do have now is that same vehicle with a shockingly new looking engine compartment. I have the invoice from Varsity Ford itemizing the $3500 in mechanical repairs that they performed. The fire also roached the paint on the hood, so that has a new coat of paint and looks brand new. I also had just purchased some high class luxurious pleather seat covers due to a couple of cosmetic defects to the front seats! I intended on trading it in right about now, so I put new brake pads on the front just before the fire. Little bit of brake wobble at high speeds, so it will need some new rotors unless you just want to live with a slight wobble coming off the highway. There is a tire sensor error that is due to one of the tires having a blown sensor. Not sure which tire. Tires are fair but probably only have 10-20K left. The bumper has significant paint chipping and the paint job, other than the hood, can only be considered fair. But I have owned this car for five and a half years and it has been rock solid reliable. Allstate said it's worth $5500, so I guess $3500 is priced to sell
