1987 Ford Mustang GT High Output with factory Cervini`s body kit.
I have owned car for a long time and have not driven it in 7 years. Car will start up with starting fluid and run but dies quickly, the 7 year old fuel will need to be drained. Car developed a loud ticking noise 7 years ago and I had it diagnosed by 2 shops as the transmition. The ticking sound starts when you start to drive and gets louder and faster as you speed up. So I spent 3,000 dollars on a performance rebuild on the trans, with upgraded parts and a shaft kit that affects the overdrive operation to make the car faster. The ticking noise was still there and I gave up and have not driven the car since. I changed the engine oil and added fuel additive and never drove it again. Also the rack and pinion have started to leak if you use the steering. Car ran outstanding when it was parked and did not leak a drop. Most of the polished parts are corroded and dirty.
Performance upgrades ---
Headers with a new turbo exaust system.
2,500 dollar Mass Air Flow upgrade. Ford says all 1987 cars came with a mass air flow fuel system but this car came with a Speed Density fuel system like on the 1986 model.
4,000 Dollar Centerline wheels and low pro tires. Also a spare tire and spare centerline cover.
MSD Distributor and coil.
2 speed electric fan with a Dacota Digital controll system.
Radiator, water pump, timing set all replaced within a year of it being parked.
Adjustable camber plates and a bump steer kit on the rack and pinion.
200 AMP alternator with upgraded power supply distribution
Polished low profile valve covers.
Factory AC, however it is not working.
