Seller Comments
1955 classic Chevy Bel Air Hardtop, Coral and Grey. Best of both worlds, original appearance but more powerful performance. 1963 327cubic inch Corvette engine, three speed synchro-mesh manual transmission. Fully restored to original interior and exterior. Original style seats, dashboard, speedometer and radio. All the chrome, fully functional windows including the classic “air wings.” Engine clean and strong as ever. In short, this is a beautifully restored car with original looks but much more muscle than the original. Still a classic engine and transmission however (also 63 ‘Vett.) The body and frame of this car are in excellent condition. The frame and undercarriage have developed very minimal rust as it has been in a dry climate (Lake Tahoe) for most of its life. For the past thirty years this car has been taken out of the garage about once every two years.
The carburetor and brakes need work. Everything else is in great condition. This was a frame up rather than a frame off restoration, so not everything has been overpainted, but once again, rust is minimal, and if it gets the right care, this should be an extremely beautiful car for many years to come. Perfect for someone looking to put in minimal work and have a drive ready classic that gets up and goes, but has not had intrusive modifications that damage the original body/frame etc. Also perfect for someone looking revert to the original 1955 Bel Air motor and drive it as a very clean, pure original.
Right now, this is selling as “not road ready” because of the brakes. After the brakes and carburetor are repaired, asking price will go up!
