General Motors’ products have always formed the nucleus of Hennessey Performance Engineering’s offerings, and Chevrolet’s C7 Corvette is no exception. This 2014 Corvette Stingray has received the Sealy, Texas-based firm’s full treatment, as announced by its special “HPE 750” sill badges and the “Supercharged” callouts decorating the hood bulge. Purchased from the original owner and driven 5,200 original miles since new, this is number 1 of 100 Hennessey HPE 750 Supercharged Corvettes built, and its performance lives up to the expectations that come with the Hennessey badge. Factory finished in Midnight Blue with a beautifully complementary Kalahari Tan interior. The basic Stingray coupe is plenty of Corvette on its own, a technological wonder boasting the LT1/455 HP V-8, 7-speed manual transmission, Brembo 4-piston power disc brakes, active handling stability control, a carbon-fiber hood, sophisticated airflow management, 8-way power leather GT sets, dual-zone air conditioning and a plethora of interior sound and electronics features. The additional 3LT Equipment Group features the 2LT package plus navigation, Napa leather seating and color-matching leather-wrapped instrument panel, doors and console. The Z51 option included here added performance brakes with red-painted calipers and slotted rotors, dry sump oiling, special suspension tuning, electronic limited-slip differential with cooler, performance gearing, special alloy wheels and Michelin tires and an exclusive carbon-fiber aero package. The Hennessey treatment is an across-the-board performance transformation incorporating $24,500 of Hennessey-installed upgrades that include a high-flow supercharger set at 7.0 PSI of boost, high-flow intercooler, HPE engine-management upgrade and chassis dynamometer calibration. In addition to the HPE exterior badging, this HPE750 Stingray features serialized HPE750 dash and engine plaques. Hennessey rates the conversion at 725 HP and 619 lb-ft of torque, figures that deliver 0-60 MPH in about 3.0 seconds, an 11.4-second quarter-mile and a top speed of 197 MPH, fitting numbers for this highly exclusive, Texas-tuned rocket.
