Classic Mercedes Coupe: '66 250 SE with modified Tails and the Door Panels:

The History of W 111 Coupe:
I will add a set of the factory 14" aluminum wheels in excellent conditions. I will also give you a set of '68 250 or 280 SE chrome bumpers in good conditions, if you pay my asking price.

This is a Project Car, though it is drivable. It is a fun restoring, I just restored one like this; '67 250 SE Coupe, what a beauty! This was my second Mercedes to restore, however I decided to liquidate all my classic collections, including '73 Volvo 1800 ES Sportwagon, the last model, which will be in the market for sale in a short time.

The model is the most beautiful coupe Mercedes ever hand build and few were imported and even fewer remains in Tennessee or Georgia.

PLEASE NOTE this car was restored and modified by a local classic car restorer in California on the tail lights as seen in 1970's, and the door panels were replaced with a teak wood plywood, and the original wooden center tray was replaced with a contemporary formed one, however the rest of teak-wood dash board area are still originals.

The body has a minor dents and very straight!!! though has minor rusts on the trunk lid, trunk room floor, and about 4" of the left sheet metal supporter inside the left fender was eaten up by rust, and the thin sheet metal covers (not structure) under the kick panels were rusted on the left side, and few minor spots on the body.

The entire body is solid, no rust on the floor pans or any other places as I see. The paint is still OK, though it should be repainted again for the former glory. Rust stop was coated several times on the area of rust that turns black primer. The trunk floors was treated with the same and black primer was coated.

The original rear and front bumpers were very much damaged so I have a good replacement, though they are from '68 250 SE model.
I have all the Mercedes original chrome emblems for the car.
The side black lubber molds came off, due to the after market things, so they are in the trunk room.

The Interior: All the Seats and Panels, and part of the dash board are all genuine leather, the ceiling is still good, though some stains on it, the dashboard needs special repairs since some teak veneer woods are damaged with the sun so repairs and refinishing are required, also needed are entire upholstery and carpeting.

The Mechanical:
The Engine was rebuilt in the early 80's before I got this and was smoking heavily till several years ago, so I decided to get the head rebuilt in 2011 while I was living in California.
It has a double chains driven SOHC straight 6 with a Bosch Injection System, when no other car manufactures could match Mercedes technology.
It has a dual exhaust system as the standard equipment.
Allison electronic ignition system was recently installed that works excellent.

A rebuilt Bosch injection pump was installed recently. The car runs relatively smooth and quite.
There is a little oil leak from the front cam shaft seal area that can be prevented by an oil leak stop, other than that there is none., though a good Mercedes mechanic tune up is recommended.

Transmission (one of the first automatic Mercedes built for its emblem "Automatic" on the trunk lid.) is working good, though you want to adjust its shifting from its 3rd to 4th gear does not shift quick enough.

Breaks: All 4 Disc Breaks: A new rebuilt master cylinder and 4 break hoses were replaced new and flushed all the metal break pipes and bled the entire system completely with fresh break fluid just recently, and all the 4 calipers were overhauled recent year, therefore the breaks work just fine.

Steering box seems to need to get rebuilt; has excessive play.

Suspensions are an independent system: The rear system has an unique system that works fine, though you may consider getting the wheel alignment, and greasing up all the lube area.

A/C System: Compressor, evaporator and condenser are relatively new, so is the radiators. You just need to vacuum the system completely to 28 to 30 Hg. and recharge it with either Freeze 12, a r12 replacement by Johnsen, or a standard refrigerant.

Have the original pink slip/ownership certificate signed by the previous owner.

PRICING:
According to the NADA Guide. The original MSRP was $9,076 in 1966, which was very high at the time when a small house was purchased around $12,000 in many parts of US.

Low Retail Price is $19,500, the Average Retail Price is $37,700, and the High Retail Value is $58,600.

Asking Price: $16,600 OBO (The price reflects about $1700 including Mercedes Aluminum wheels like new except one which has some paint finish blemish and the bumper set in good conditions.), in Cash in person, or a direct deposit to my bank receiving account.
No Other Payment method is accepted to avoid any scams please.
And when a full amount is paid to me, the sale will be consummated, no exception.
I received an offer of $12,000, however your offer must be better than that!
If any question, please write me via this ads.

Thank you.
