This vehicle has multiple small issues.  As far as I am aware, there are no major mechanical issues.  AC blows cold.  All lights and electrical work.  Ask questions please.  

Not for the faint of heart this incredible little well-balanced SUV is not only a head turner but an extremely limited collectors’ car. I purchased this vehicle in 2016 and had an Isuzu engine installed professionally with only 79k miles on it. If you know anything about these vehicles, you'll realize the joy of that!

This vehicle does not have its original paint color of Foxfire Red Mica. You can see that on the inside doorjambs It has been painted with the color you see. There were 90 of these produced and sold in the US in 2000 in Foxfire.

This is a project car... Not road ready. It starts. Runs. Is drivable. But needs some real TLC to shine in its true glory.

The Isuzu VehiCross is a heavily underrated modern-classic. As vanilla crossovers continue to dominate new car sales, drivers looking for more character and comparable practicality are moving towards classic trucks and SUVs. The 3.6-liter V-6 engine was borrowed from the Isuzu Trooper and had 215 horsepower and 230 lb-ft of torque. It’s body-on-frame construction came standard with a Torque on Demand 4×4 system that uses 12 independent sensors to send power to the wheels with the most traction. The system defaults to rear-wheel drive but engages the front wheels when needed. A display in the instrument cluster shows the instantaneous torque split, which was very advanced for the time and is still an impressive feature on modern vehicles. It’s one of the only vehicles to be fitted from the factory with monotube shocks with external heat-expansion chambers, a suspension setup commonly used in off-road racing.

Speaking of racing, the VehiCross was a class winner at the 1998 Paris-Dakar Rally and 1999 Australian Safari Rally.

At the time of this writing, there are only nine VehiCrosses listed across the entire country with an average odometer reading of over 150,000 and an average asking price of $6500. Pretty cheap for such a rare and interesting truck.

The Isuzu VehiCROSS is a compact SUV from Isuzu. Produced from 1997 through 2001 (Japanese market 1997–1999; US market 1999–2001), it shares many of its components with the Trooper, including both its 3.2 L and 3.5 L V6 engine that produces 215 bhp (160 kW; 218 PS) at 5400 rpm and 230 lb·ft (312 N·m) at 3000 rpm of torque. The vehicle also features the Torque on Demand (TOD) 4-wheel-drive system produced by BorgWarner.

4,153 were sold in the United States.

The VehiCROSS scored highest of all Mechanically, for Trail Performance and Highway Performance when paired against Chevrolet Tahoe Z71, GMC Yukon, Nissan Xterra, Ford Excursion and Mitsubishi Montero Sport in 2000 according to "Four 

Wheeler" magazine. The VehiCROSS was originally unveiled as a concept vehicle at the 1993 Tokyo International Auto Show.

Design team[edit]
Led by Shiro Nakamura and Satomi Murayama, chief designer/manager at Isuzu's European office in Brussels, the design team was an international group: Simon Cox (assistant chief designer best known for designing the Lotus Elan's interior), Joji Yanaka, Andrew Hill and Nick Robinson. The task was to build a "lightweight but tough, fun but environmentally friendly" SUV.

There's lots of info available online and I can't stop telling you about it because it is just such a cool, unique vehicle that has made a permanent and underappreciated dent in automotive history.  Not often do you have the opportunity to buy a truly rare vehicle in really good condition for this price.  I would encourage you to come and look at it, start it up, bring a mechanic.  I am a nurse, not a mechanic and know NOTHING about cars.  This has many little issues (drivers window sticks at times, console top falls off.  I cannot arrange shipping but if you'd like to I'll be accommodating and cooperative working with you and your shipper.
