1929 SSK Mercedes Benz Roadster (kit car)
I have used this as a beach car only. The longest distance I have ever gone in it is probably 8miles!
It has a 1974 Ford 2300 cc engine (4cl) with a three speed automatic transmission. It has probably no more than 150 miles on it since I have had the following done to it;
Re built transmission
Cylinder head gasket re done
Upholstery re done
New tires (white wall)
Partial re paint (Brown panels)
New brake master cylinder
Re wired
new wind screen
Additional fan installed for engine cooling
I am sure there is more!
If I was going to keep the car I would have the front bumper re chromed, but this is aesthetic. There are some mice nibble marks on the back seat as some holes on the tonneau cover that were re patched. The car has no other top than the tonneau.
Wish I could keep it but it is just not a practical vehicle to have, and I am returning to the UK in July.
The car is smog exempt and I took the car to the referees station on the 11th March 2014 ( to complete the final paper work. It passed with flying colors! I have had this car advertised a number of times and have had buyers. The problem was when they found out that it had to go to the referees station before they could put it on the road they backed out. I do not blame them . Anyway it was a painless process. I had spent over a $1000 on bringing the car up to smog regulations when I first bought the car. With the new smog laws you can apply for an exemption, but it needs to go to the referees station to ensure that the hardware is current. All was good. It was just finding time to do it! The car does need to be taxed, as that has expired but it is a minimal and and I will be glad to take that into consideration during the sale.

Can transport to you for cost of trailer rental ($35) plus $15hr and cost of gas. I have an ex marine that I like to keep busy if I can, does a great job of moving anything.
