Seller Comments
I am selling my 1998 Honda Civic LX which has a rebuilt and reliable engine. I'm buying a new car so I no longer need this one.
Tires are in good shape (70-80% tred), engine purrs and is extremely reliable and efficient. It was rebuilt a year or so ago by a certified Honda dealership and had the head gasket replaced, a brand new radiator, cables, alternator, belt, water pump etc installed. I have the paperwork for the work that was done which totals about $6,000.00. I always change the oil on time and I can supply full documentation from jiffy lube. I have treated this car like my baby since I got it. AC works great (ice cold), has cdplayer/stereo (auxiliary potential for iPhone or iPod connectivity) and a Viper security system installed. Windshield is new, had it replaced about six months ago (I also have the paperwork for that). This would be a perfect starter car for a high school student or college student looking for a very reliable and cheap car.
The ugly: it does have some cosmetic wear but this does not affect the drivability of the car. It was backed into (at low speeds) while parked on the side of the vehicle and has some dents but the damage that is left is purely cosmetic. (If dents are a deal breaker I can connect you with some very affordable autobody professionals who can fix the damage at a fraction of the cost of a typical shop.) I had the CV axle replaced on the side that was hit just as a precaution and had mechanical diagnostics done to ensure the car is safe, but I didn't fix the dents.
The greatest thing about owning this car is how cheap it is to get parts if you ever have to replace anything (the biggest thing I've replaced was the blower motor for the AC which costed me $5 from a salvage yard.) That and how good it is on gas!
If you're looking to save money and have a reliable inexpensive car to own and maintain, this is what you're looking for.
I paid $4,500 for this car and put about $7,000 into it, so you're really getting an $11,500 car! Pretty sweet deal!! Guaranteed most reliable 98 Civic on Craigslist!
