Very nice partially restored extra heavy duty classic Chevy Pickup, Spent over $15,000 on it since 2001, but went through a divorce and ran out of money to keep the project going.
Beautiful Patriot Blue Pearlcoat paint job with new high end cloth bucket/bench seat (can seat 3 with center bench/storage/armrest in up position), new inner/outer fenders (new dings from 2009 & 10 snowstorms - could not afford repair), new radiator/radiator mounting frame, grill, chrome allow mags w/ good tires (16 1/2") chrome front bumper, mirrors(driver side extendable for pulling travel trailer or 5th wheel), rhino liner in bed w/ turbo net in place of tailgate, and far too much more to list here. HAVE ALL RECEIPTS, ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL & LITERATURE W/MANUFACTURERS METAL ID PLATE.
This was oon old friends farm truck, and it was barn kept since birth. I am the 2nd owner. Decided to make love to it due to the almost absolute lack of rust normally found on 68-72 Chevy trucks!
New 350/300HP crate motor (purchased through NuCar in New Castle), big Holley 4BBL with Edelbrock Hi-rise manifold, Inner/outer front bearings and brakes done in the fall of 2011.
Other interior improvements include new instrument cluster, dash pad/fabric cover, chrome heater vents, new blue tint windshield, carpeting( getting a little rough due to old leaks before windshield was replaced).
I have attempted to give a full accounting of work needed, and will also say that the next phase of restoration was to add chrome rear step bumber & dual 2 1/2" exhaust. Old exhaust will still last quite a while, and has recently had the glass packed muffler replaced. Front brakes are power assisted, and the booster & master cylinder have been replaced too.
Serious inquiries - from Chevy truck lovers is what I'm looking for.
If I still had any need for it - it WOULD NOT BE FOR SALE. It will be painfull to see it go down the road, so I'd like it to go to someone who will truly appreciate it.
It's not a race truck )4 sp Muncy tranny w/ creeper gear - on the floor, nor is it a show truck. It is a work horse that was designed to carry a heavy slide-in camper, and it can haul/pull anything! I had a 30' travel trailer until my divorce, and it rides like a Caddy when it has a load on it.
No air or power steering, although both can be done fairly easily. I wanted it mostly original myself. PERFECT, head turning old truck for a landscapeing or other contractor just starting out, or even for someone who does firewood, or anyone that needs a reliable heavy duty truck - that is special.
The truck runs great, and De. registration is good until March 31st - - no inspection required!
I will entertain a reasonable offer, but if you plan on trying to lo-ball me, save yourself the time and aggravation. It will NOT happen.
In 2009 I put signs in the windows listing it for sale @ $8500. (before new dings, etc.), and turned down an off er for $7000., while just sitting in front of a WAWA.
I'd rather keep it and give it to my son for a spare truck (contractor)before letting it go for very much less. He learned to drive in it, and has a slight emotional attachment.
Fair warning. I just don't want to waste either of our time. It can be seen @ my place in Lewes.
NO DEALERS!!!!!!
