'03 F-150 XLT, V6, 2WD XCab, Very dependable daily driver! $5495 OBO!
It's a high miler and it needs some TLC but this is hands down the most dependable vehicle I've ever owned in my entire life!
I'm the second owner and I bought it in 2015. It was a very gently used and meticulously maintained lady's truck at the time with 187,000 mi on it. It has 288,000 (mostly highway) miles on it now and it has never once broken down on me or left me stranded!
I've owned a lot of other cars, trucks and motorcycles in my life and NONE of them ever went over 100,000 miles without leaving me stranded or without some kind of major component failure at some point! The battery, the tires and the front brake pads are the only things I've ever had to replace!
Even though it needs a tune-up and some TLC, it still runs and drives pretty good and it would make an excellent work or farm truck. It has good brakes, good tires, the power windows, locks and wipers all work great, heat and AC both work too but it only blows down low, radio works intermittently but only when it's freezing cold outside. I still haven't figured that one out.
It's a rust free Texas truck with a clear, blue, Texas title and it has never been wrecked, flooded, abused or puked in (lol) but it's a work truck now so of course it does have a few minor dents and dings.
It's licensed, inspected and ready to drive. Front tires still have 75 or 80% life left in them and rear tires probably have 20 or 25% left.
When I bought it it didn't even have a ball hitch on the bumper and it had never been used for any kind of towing at all. I had to punch out the plastic insert when I put a 2 inch ball on there just so I could drag some dead tree limbs around my property and haul a small utility trailer on occasion.
I'm semi-retired now and I was a die-hard Chevy man almost all of my life until Ford won me over with this truck! 2003 was the last year for the 10th generation F-150 and it was arguably one of their best years ever as indicated by many automotive professionals including The Car Wizard on YouTube.
They're so dependable and so bulletproof that I just bought another 2003 exactly like it with a lot fewer miles on it.
My new one had a 70" X 80" A.R.E., aluminum, mini-camper/bed topper on it and you can't haul motorcycles and riding lawn mowers with one of those on your truck so I have no use for it. It's in excellent condition, the shocks on the back window still work great and I even have the key so you can lock it up. If you buy my truck, I'll throw it in for only $250 bucks, otherwise I'm asking $495 for the topper by itself. I know for sure that it will fit all '97 through '03 F-150's with a 70" wide by 6.5 foot bed and it will probably fit many other brands too.
Also have a 54" x 8', tilt bed, utility trailer available for only $595 OBO! It has 4 ft. walls and a drop-down loading ramp with a solid wood bed, new wheel bearings and a new light kit. It's fairly lightweight and it pulls great. Perfect for hauling off brush, trash, riding lawn mower and gear etc. If you buy the truck and the trailer, you can have the topper for free! I'm open to any interesting trades on the trailer or the topper but have to have cash for the truck.
