Ring in the New Year with an Older Car

Twenty-twelve has arrived and this is the beginning of a New Year. We are creatures of habit-making resolutions each year hoping that we’ll be able to follow through on our new hopes, and dreams. The New Year is also a time to throw away the old and start with the new-or so they say. But what if you decided to break the traditional views of millions of people across the globe and welcome the old instead of the new for the year 2012? What if you have been thinking of purchasing a car and decided to go for an older car instead of that new car you’ve been admiring from afar? Okay so you’re not ringing in the New Year with a brand new vehicle-so what? There are plenty of older cars that are in great condition just waiting to have a good home. Plus if you have the extra cash saved up, you won’t be locked into any car payments. And let’s face it folks, the economy still hasn’t picked her face up off the ground after her big nose dive 4 years ago. What does this mean for you? Well, unless you have recovered from economy’s mess then you’ll fall into the category of millions who are watching their 

Getting the most for your money means you don’t need to settle for a clunker-you can still get a nice car in decent condition. But the truth be told, you will need to do your home work and it might take some time before you find the older car that meets all of your expectations. Once you find the car that strikes your fancy, half the battle is over. At least you won’t have to worry about a car payment and the car is yours-lock, stock and barrel. Once you get the car home you can fix it up to your liking. You might need to have it detailed, or if you have the time and patience why not do the detailing yourself?  If you have a teenager in your home you could give him/her the chance to earn some extra money and have them do the detailing for you. Once your new older vehicle is cleaned up, then it’s time to take it for a spin. You should be proud-you just purchased your own vehicle. This is the beginning of a new year and that means new beginnings-even if it’s an older car parked in your driveway.
